Team spirit and fresh ideas for the European Network of rainbow families!

NELFA recently elected a new Executive Board at a meeting in Barcelona

The Network of European LGBTIQ Families Associations, NELFA, is looking ahead with
joy, confidence and enthusiasm. On 17 June 2017, the new Board met in Barcelona (Spain) to
reflect upon the achievements and challenges of the network, to professionalise the current
structures and to implement several major projects, dedicated to rainbow families in Europe
and beyond. One special topic was the election of the new Executive Board positions.

Dominique Boren (APGL, France) is from now on President and Giuseppina La Delfa
(Famiglie Arcobaleno, Italy) Vice-President. Giovanni Fantoni (Famiglie Arcobaleno, Italy)
was elected Treasurer and Björn Sieverding (LSVD, Germany) will be – as Secretary – in
charge of the office. The whole NELFA Board has currently ten members and will work until
the elections during the next Annual General Meeting in Lisbon, in spring 2018.
The other Board members are Caroline Ausserer (TransInterQueer, Germany), Jordi Antón
(FLG, Spain), Juha-Pekka Hippi (Sateenkaariperheet, Finland), Esteban Jiménez (Famiglie
Arcobaleno, Italy), Eleni Maravelia (FLG, Spain), Jesús Santos Homobono (Galehi, Spain).

NELFA’s new President, Dominique Boren, says, “I appreciate the confidence vested in me
and I look forward to working with my fellow Board members to strengthen the rights of
LGBTIQ* parents and their children. We can build on the tremendous work done so far by
NELFA and its (former) volunteers, the member organisations and numerous allies. My core
message remains unequivocally and simple: Europe should rely on family diversity!

Giuseppina La Delfa, new Vice-President of NELFA, adds, “I am delighted by the team
spirit and all the fresh ideas which were discussed in Barcelona: plans for a new European
Rainbow Families Meeting, the next major NELFA conference in Lisbon 2018 and the
upcoming project granted by the Erasmus+ programme of the EU! My own declared aim is to
reinforce our efforts to ensure the freedom of movement in Europe – for all families!
